For thin-walled aluminum parts with poor rigidity, the following clamping methods can be used to reduce deformation:
①For thin-walled bushing parts, if the three-jaw self-centering chuck or spring chuck is used for radial clamping, once it is released after processing, the component will inevitably deform. At this time, the method of pressing the axial end face with better rigidity should be used. Position the inner hole of the part, make a threaded mandrel, insert it into the inner hole of the part, press the end face with a cover plate on it, and then tighten it with a nut. When machining the outer circle, clamping deformation can be avoided, so as to obtain satisfactory machining accuracy.
② When processing thin-walled and thin-plate parts, it is best to use vacuum suction cups to obtain evenly distributed clamping force, and then process with a small amount of cutting, which can well prevent parts deformation.
In addition, the packing method can also be used. In order to increase the process rigidity of thin-walled parts, a medium can be filled inside the parts to reduce the deformation of the parts during clamping and cutting. For example, urea melt containing 3% to 6% potassium nitrate is poured into the parts. After processing, the parts can be immersed in water or alcohol, and the filler can be dissolved and poured out.

FAQ:
Q1: Is Aluminum 7075 stronger than steel?
A: The most important benefit of 7075 aluminum is its high strength. While it does not have the same level of corrosion resistance or weldability that other common alloys due, its resistance to stress and strain makes it highly useful in aerospace applications where it allows for weight savings over steel.
Q2: Is 6061 or 7075 aluminum stronger?
A: It is interesting to note that even though 7075 aluminum is much stronger than 6061 aluminum, it melts at a slightly lower temperature. Because 6061 aluminum has a higher thermal conductivity than 7075 aluminum, it can be a better choice for certain applications.
Q3: What is 7075 aluminum alloy used for?
A: 7075 is widely used for construction of aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselages. Its strength and light weight are also desirable in other fields. Rock climbing equipment and bicycle components are commonly made from 7075 aluminium alloy.
Q4: What is the strongest type of aluminum?
A: Grade 7075 aluminium
Q5: Can you weld 7075 aluminum?
A: It is technically possible to weld 7075 aluminum. If a welder applies heat, they can join two pieces together. But the result isn't what a layperson might think. When a welder applies high heat to 7075 aluminum, it creates microcracks as it cools.
Q6: Can 7075 aluminum be cast?
A: Can aluminum 7075 be cast? In some cases, as-cast 7075 aluminum alloy is directly used as billet in hot-working methods like extrusion. However, as-cast 7075 aluminum alloy can be highly sensitive to deformation temperature and strain rate and can be susceptible to cracking during hot plastic deformation.
