Chromium steel refers to alloy steel containing chromium. Chromium can increase the hardenability of steel and improve the strength and wear resistance of steel. But chromium steel also has a tendency to overheat and to develop temper brittleness. Chromium steel is prone to white spots after forging, and the surface carbon concentration of low carbon chromium steel after carburization is high and brittle. It is a very good carburizing steel. Chromium content can increase the hardenability of the steel and reduce the deformation during quenching, which is beneficial to improve the strength of the core of the carburized part without reducing the impact toughness. Steel has high cold deformation plasticity and good weldability. The machinability is best in the annealed state. Can be used to make machines and tools. Has high oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. For different use environments, other elements such as molybdenum, vanadium, tungsten, titanium, niobium, boron and other elements are often added.
